Count down before the next Natural Disaster Expo in California

The Great Sendai Earthquake and Tsunami of March 11, 2011, was a catastrophic event that left a deep impact on the world.

Also, this May the Group of Seven also met in Japan and their leaders joined the Hiroshima Vision on Nuclear Disarmament to achieve a world without nuclear weapons.

While man-made disasters like nuclear war are a critical concern, natural disasters remain a constant threat.

The World Economic Forum's 2023 Global Risk Report has designated that 2023 will be the 'year of the Poly disaster.'

This highlights the ongoing struggle against global risks and We need representatives from all walks of life to come together and work towards integrating age and gender into disaster management and relief efforts.

Of course people with discapacities and all the vulnerable communities are needed during brainstorming and planning before the next big disaster.

Fortunately, there have been some notable initiatives that tackle these concerns. One of them is the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations. They have established an EU Civil Protection Knowledge Network that connects practitioners, policymakers, and researchers that allows them to share skills and exchange best practices.

Another great example from this same organization at the EU is the Peer Review program, and It is by bringing together experts that we can improve strategies and move towards building a safer and more resilient world.

Recently, we attended for the second time the Natural Disaster Expo in Miami and made great connections with Climate Tech leaders and emergency practitioners from all over the globe.

During the three-day event, we enjoyed Cuban coffee and deep conversations with many professionals working together towards a common goal; building a safer future for all.

And you may know already that in May also we celebrate International Firefighters Day and it is Mental Health awareness month.

Another important date to remember is this September 27 & 28 for the Natural Disaster expo in Anaheim California.

Lastly, please try to remember that before any emergency and natural disaster, always start taking care of yourself.

I hope you enjoy the summer!.
